Do you always send the same cleaners?
We do our best to send the same staff to your home for recurring cleaning services. If some cleaners are unavailable, we ensure your appointment is fulfilled by another Brilliant Cleaner.

How do cleaners access my home if I’m at work?
Simply let us know your preference. If you’d like to provide us with a key for future cleanings, you can give it to your cleaners or leave it at our office. We are also happy to access a lockbox or obtain keys from your building’s front desk with your permission.

Do you clean grout or bathroom mold?
To maintain an affordable service, we do not clean tile grout. If you need urgent assistance, we recommend hiring a specialized tile and grout cleaning service.

For health reasons, we do not remove bathroom mold. A mold remediation specialist is better equipped for this service and will ensure the mold is removed safely.

How do you accept payments for cleaning services?
As a cooperative, all our cleaners manage payments directly. We accept cash, checks, Venmo, or Zelle.

How many cleaners should I expect?
We assign only one person per job for our flat-rate services. For jobs valued at $350 or more, we can coordinate sending a 2-person team upon request.

What occurs in case of a late cancellation or lockout?
Since we coordinate all appointments in advance, a $50 late cancellation fee applies to appointments cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled time.

This fee also applies if our staff cannot access the home—for example, if the client is not home or if access is not provided or arranged.

Do you perform move-in or move-out cleanings?
Yes, we do. We simply ask that you have a vacuum available, as our cleaners travel via public transportation in Chicago. For suburban appointments, we provide our own vacuum.

Are recurring cleaning services better for me?
Regular, recurring home cleanings are excellent for reducing stress and providing a great sense of achievement. Imagine starting your week or weekend with a clean and tidy home!

Do you offer refunds?
As a cooperative, all payments are managed directly by each individual partner and cleaning professional. We do not offer refunds once payment has been made for services rendered.

If your cleaning service does not meet your expectations, notify us within 48 hours and we will return within 48 hours to resolve the issue. Our customer service team can only address concerns if contacted within 48 hours of your appointment.

What is the difference between standard and deep cleaning?

A standard cleaning is more affordable but less thorough than a deep cleaning. A standard cleaning checklist includes mopping or using a Swiffer on floors, dusting all accessible exterior surfaces, cleaning common areas, making beds, changing linens if requested, and cleaning bathrooms and toilets. We generally recommend this service for homes that are already well-maintained but, for some reason, cannot be cleaned that day or have visitors the next day and want to ensure their home is ready for guests. We also offer this service to our regular clients, unless they wish to add an additional task to their request.

A premium or deep cleaning is a more detailed and thorough cleaning. It includes a deep cleaning of kitchen and bathroom floors. It requires more time and cleaning products, which also makes it more expensive than a standard cleaning. It will leave your home spotless. Our professional cleaners will also remove accumulated grease from stoves and kitchen floors, and perform a thorough scrub of bathroom tiles and toilets. We recommend this service if your home has not been cleaned for a long time or if you are moving in or out.
